Ship and Flag Icons PG/AG-PGF

Add custom ship icons and new flags for PG/AG in PG Forever (PGF).

Ships

Julo and KuK General (McGuba) provide nice ship icons in the standard 60x50 icon size.

An automated re-scale of SSI Pacific General (PacG) ships from 182x50 (actual ship lengths not more than 118px) to 60x50 looks OK, not worse than SSI PG ships.

Compare 3 60x50 versions of Bismarck below:
  • SSI PacG Bismarck re-scaled to 60x50 on unspotted sea
  • Custom colorful Bismarck 60x50 on unspotted sea (side view)
  • Custom colorful Bismarck 60x50 on unspotted sea (top view)

Flags

Current PGF

The PGF flag sheet could be simpler and more user-friendly.

The currrent flag sheet is not consistent with the unit sheet:

.........................Flags............Units
1st Icon..............#1................#0

Width (icons).......24.................20

Width (pixels)......1440.............1200

Each country has 2 flag icons, 2 versions, 1 in each of 2 rows, 1 with gold border and 1 with black drop-shadow. This means that each country has 2 flag numbers:

x
x+24

The flag sheet sequence matches country codes only if you assume that the sheet starts at #1, inconsistent with the unit sheet that starts with #0.

AGW Proposal

The simpler and more consistent method is to have only 1 flag icon per country on a sheet that matches the unit-icon sheet's format.

#0 (1st icon) = gold border only, no flag, hollow gold rectangle
#1+ (2nd icon+) = flag with black drop shadow

PGF could add the #0 gold-border icon as a layer over any flag, which would cover the black drop-shadow.
